For fans of
surprises!

If you enjoy unexpected musical collaborations and a surprising twist in the lineup, the Marquee has surely brought a smile to your face on multiple occasions. Think André Brasseur, think Jef Neve with his Marquee Overtures, think Willy Sommers along with Mauro Pawlowski & De Kempenzonen, and of course, last year's performance by Tarkastaja a.k.a. Clouseau. Their glorious set still resonates in Kiewit.

This time around, Pukkelpop presents The Atomic Orchestra; a symphonic orchestra that will perform well-known songs by various Pukkelpop artists. The special guests and playlist remain in the conductor's pocket for now, but on paper alone, The Atomic Orchestra sounds stellar. Twenty-two strings, six brass, six woodwinds, two French horns, two backing vocals, two percussionists, a harp, a guitar, a piano, a bass, a drum, a conductor, and a - for now - noble unknown. But who knows... it just might be you!

Are you musically inclined or do you play a unique instrument; bagpipes, duduk, stylophone, handpan, nyckelharpa, or something else? Maybe you can whistle the alphabet on your fingers or are you still unmatched on the percussion set from kindergarten? Does "Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares" hold no secrets for you, do you get the strangest sounds out of the rain stick you bought on your world travels, are you skilled on the gong, or do crazy things with claves?  Then click on this link and join The Atomic Orchestra for your moment of glory at Pukkelpop, Saturday August 17.
