Pukkelpop is so much more than music. Seasoned Pukkelpoppers already know the drill, but it’s a point worth making again. Because if all you do between shows is race from Main Stage to Wave, you’re missing at least half the fun.

Under the Go Explore banner, almost every corner of Pukkelpop has something waiting to be discovered. Art, design, digital experiments, unexpected parties and a Sky Wheel that lifts you high above the festival madness for a minute.

Wanderful.design: made in Belgium 

Wanderful.design brings together some of Belgium’s most exciting creative minds. Through exhibitions, residencies and collaborations, the platform gives bold creative voices the space to do what they do best. At Pukkelpop, that space stretches across the VIP Village, Media Village and Artist Backstage, where several Limburg-based talents are leaving their mark this year. 

Hilde Vanhees paints somewhere on the edge of reality and imagination. Kevin Oyen blurs the line between art and function, creating sculptural pieces shaped by light, material and movement. Elise Berkvens takes familiar landscapes, architecture and everyday imagery and rearranges them into something entirely new. You’ll also spot work by Lucas Chaves, Fermetti, Atelier Belge, Frits Jeuris, Wouter Persyn and Hasselt-based visual artist Niels Vaes throughout the festival.

So, keep your eyes open as you wander around Pukkelpop. You might come for the music, but you’ll leave with a pretty good idea of what’s moving in Belgian and Limburg design.

Videowall: 3D art, supersized

The Videowall is a monumental canvas showcasing an international mix of illustrators, animators, motion designers and video artists.

From Winston Hacking’s surreal collages and Superview TV’s analogue-meets-digital aesthetic to the immersive 3D worlds of TAVO PONCE the Videowall brings together visual talent from across the globe. Roberts Rurans, Emanuele Kabu and Jem McQuirk join the line-up, alongside Belgian names including Pitou, Annelies Vaes, Visuals Internationals, Raf Wathion and Jango Jim.
