Stepping away allowed the duo to rediscover life outside the band, but within just four months, their creative hunger returned stronger than ever.

By January 2025, Kerr and Thatcher entered the studio with a blank calendar and a renewed sense of purpose. Before writing, Kerr needed an honest answer to why they should even make another record.
