“Apparently I have a sound and people can hear it,” Tom Misch observed modestly. That sound is reminiscent of sunny days at the beach with your first summer love. A bit of hip-hop, a pinch of soul, a smidgen of jazz and a whiff of funk: the young Londoner does it all and wonderful beats, guitar and violin are all part of his repertoire. He has a pretty good voice too although he often leaves the singing part to friends like Carmody, Loyle Carner and Jordan Rakei. In 2020 he teamed up with drummer Yussef Dayes on the fantastic album ‘What Kinda Music’, released on the iconic jazz label Blue Note. Last year, his ‘Quarantine Sessions’ were filled to the brim with instrumental covers of Nirvana, Solange and James Blake to name but a few. Tom Misch, the musical talent with the freshest licks and the lushest vibes.
