Biografie

Ima Robot. is an band based in Los Angeles that formed in the early 1990s but really only came to fruition in the early 2000s after signing with Virgin Records. The band's vocalist, Alex Ebert, was originally a per before forming the band. The band's other original members were Timmy the Terror (Anderson), OliGee (Oliver Goldstein), Justin Meldal-Johnsen, and the prolific studio drummer Joey Waronker. Meldal-Johnsen and Waronker were sought-after musicians who had played with Beck before joining Ima Robot. Their self-titled first full-length album was released in 2003. Since 2004,Waronker, Meldal-Johnsen, andOligee have parted from the band, with former Oleander drummer Scott Devours (Timmy's cousin) taking over drumming duties, Filip Nikolic first on keys, and then taking over on bass, and Andy Marlow on guitar as well as keys. In 2006, IMA Robot. put out their sophomore album, Monument to the Masses, as well as the self-released album Search and Destroy (sold only in shows in a limited run.). April 2007 marks the split of the band from Virgin Records per their MySpace page.
