Info At the Festival Site

Food & drink

There is no question that eating and drinking are two of the many things to be enjoyed at a music festival. Few events offer such a wide choice in such a limited area as Pukkelpop.
Pukkelpop offers its visitors a wide range of culinary products, from vegetarian to biological and fast food. Dishes from various cultures are served at the catering stands and in the resto area. All kinds of drinks (beer, soft drinks) can be bought at the drink stalls which you can find all over the festival site. Special stalls sell coffee, milk or fruit juice.

Recycling

Pukkelpop is an environmentally conscious festival that puts great emphasis on sustainability. Pukkelpop promotes the use of environmentally friendly and recyclable products and packaging. Waste is sorted and recycled as much as possible.

Toilets

All over the festival site there are hundreds of metres of urinals and about 170 toilets which are cleaned regularly. In every toilet area there washbasins where you can wash your hands. The toilets and the toilet paper are free. So do not use the ditches or fences – respect the environment and the other festivalgoers.

Safe lockers

Each year Pukkelpop tries to improve the quality of the festival and the service to its visitors. This year we offer you the perfect solution for storing your valuable stuff safely for one or more days: SAFELOCKERS.
Safelockers are small storage compartments (33cmW x 33cmH x 45cmD)
, easy to operate, in which you can keep your personal things, clothes or crash helmet safely under lock and key. Safelockers can be shared. One Safelocker can easily contain the coats/sweaters of 2/3 people. Safelockers are not expensive. A Daylocker costs only 5 € + a 5-euro deposit, which will be refunded when you return the key. You can rent a Festivallocker (3 days) for 15 € + deposit. You can find the Safelockers diagonally across from the main entrance to the festival site. The Safelocker area is permanently guarded. Each day the Safelocker area is accessible during festival hours.

Don’t forget! Daylockers must be emptied every evening.

GSM

Proximus will provide a temporary increase in capacity. You can recharge your GSM at the Proximus Go for Music charging poles.

Lost & found

After the festival all lost property will be collected by the Hasselt police. The lost & found service can be reached at 011/26 73 15 during office hours.

First Aid

During the festival a team of the Vlaams Kruis (Flemish Cross) and a doctor will be permanently present. You can recognize the Vlaams Kruis by their yellow flag with a black cross.

Facilities for people with disabilities

In cooperation with Intro and with the support of the National Lottery, Pukkelpop is constantly working to improve the accessibility to the festival for disabled people. We are paying extra attention to the accessibility of the festival site and its surroundings.

There is an alternative, less busy and more accessible entrance for wheelchair users. One helper is allowed to accompany the wheelchair user via this entrance.
Near the Main Stage, Marquee, Dancehall and Shelter there are special platforms where wheelchair users and people with crutches will have a perfect view of the stage. To allow as many disabled people as possible to make use of these platforms, only one helper/friend can join them.
Close to the entrance of the festival site a camping zone for people with disabilities has been reserved. Of course, relatives, friends and acquaintances of disabled campers are welcome to this campsite (max four people, with valid tickets).
At the festival site and the reserved camping zone there are toilets adapted to the needs of disabled people.
At the campsite there is a special-care tent where you can leave your wheelchair at night and recharge it if necessary. Special washbasins, appliances such as a lift, a bed for medical care, toilet chairs etc. are at your disposal.
If you have a European (blue) parking card and you have trouble parking close to the entrance of the festival site, please contact Intro.
During the festival you can use the services of the ADL-assistants free of charge. They will help you put up your tent, assist you when using the toilet, move your wheelchair, etc.
Do not hesitate to ask the assistants for help. You will find them near the platforms for the disabled and at your campsite.

Together we will try to find the right solution if something should go wrong with your wheelchair or any of the other appliances that you need.

Do you want to make use of the above facilities? Have you still got questions that haven’t been answered by the information above? Do you need more information? Send an e-mail to maarten@intro-events.be. More info can also be found on www.intro-events.be.

Loop system

As usual loop systems for people with hearing aids will be provided at Pukkelpop.
By switching your hearing aid to the T-position, you will be able to hear and appreciate the music without the interference of disturbing background noises.
Both the Main Stage and the Marquee have been fitted with loop systems near the platforms for wheelchair users.
The ADL-assistants, whom you can find near the wheelchair platforms, will be able to give you more information.
A big thanks to the Veranneman company!!!!

Safety in front of and next to the stage

Crowdsurfing prohibited

Crowdsurfing is prohibited at all big European festivals, Pukkelpop included. Festivalgoers who do not respect this rule will be removed from the festival site. The reasons for the prohibition became clear a year after its introduction. People in the first rows were again able to enjoy the concert without constantly having to try and protect heads and limbs. The risk of injury has significantly decreased and festival sites have become safer and more pleasant places for everyone.

Safety corridors

The same constructions as in previous years will be built in front of the stages to increase the comfort and safety of all festival visitors. The safety corridors consist of a solid structure of freestanding barriers that will allow security people and aid organizations to carry out evacuations and interventions far into the crowd without disturbing the rest of the audience. The barriers have been positioned so that they can absorb a large part of the forward and sideward crowd pressure.

Studded Flooring

To avoid muddy and slippery surfaces on rainy days, studded rubber flooring will be installed in front of the Main Stage.

Video screens

The video screens on both sides of the stage allow all festivalgoers, especially those at the back of the audience, to get a clear picture of what is happening on the Main Stage. So, you do not need to be in the front rows to enjoy the shows.

Do's & Don'ts at the festival site

- When entering the festival site you may be searched. If you refuse, you will be denied access to the site.
- Animals, glass, tin cans, glass bottles, camel bags, (professional) audiovisual equipment, vuvuzela's, sharp objects and any other objects the organizers may consider dangerous are not allowed onto the site.
- Burning paper or any other waste is strictly forbidden. You will not only be endangering yourself but also the other festivalgoers!
- Beer is available at the site, all other alcoholic beverages are prohibited!
- We urgently request all festivalgoers not to cause damage to the neighbouring fields or properties. Causing inconvenience to the neighbours may endanger Pukkelpop’s future.
- Anyone who breaks the rules will be denied access to the festival. Tickets will not be refunded.
- The Pukkelpop festival takes place in a very green environment. That is why it is extremely important to keep the environment – festival site, car parks and campsite - garbage free. Use the garbage bins and waste containers to prevent the site becoming a garbage dump.
- At and around the festival site (campsite and public roads) it is strictly prohibited to distribute flyers or any other promotional material. For environmental technical reasons there is a strict police interdiction. Putting up posters at and around the festival site is strictly forbidden without prior permission from the Pukkelpop organizers. Info and requests via info@pukkelpop.be.
-Animals are not allowed onto the site, except for the assistance dogs of disabled people.

Safe and sound

The Pukkelpop organizers are committed to making the festival as safe and enjoyable as possible for its visitors. A large number of (campsite) stewards and security staff keep an eye on things and help visitors when and where necessary.
Your valuable things can be safely stored in a safe locker.

We strongly advise you to read the following information carefully:

Tips:

- Before leaving your car, lock the steering wheel. Do not forget to lock your car as well.
- Do not leave any valuables in your car.
- Do not leave shopping bags or clothes in your car. Show potential thieves that you are not hiding anything valuable. Leave the glove compartment open.
- Use the guarded Pukkelpop car park.
- Do not cover the loading compartment of your station car.
- Try to pitch your tent next to a friend’s so that you can keep an eye on each other’s property. Or make friends with your new neighbours – chances are they are very nice guys and gals.
- Mark your property (your tent included) with your postcode and house number. Tag your keys with the phone number and address of a friend.
- Use the safe lockers to store valuable things.
- Do not leave your tent without taking your valuable things or storing them in a safe locker. Do not keep your tent spic and span. Do not offer thieves the opportunity for ‘a fast grab’.
- Be careful where you put your valuable things before you go to bed. You may not always be aware of someone entering your tent. Divide your money and other valuables into small amounts and hide them in different places in your tent.
- Do not challenge people you see looking through tents. Report them to the stewards, the security staff or the police. Challenging thieves might lead to confrontation and violence. There are a large number of campsite stewards to deal with the problem.
- Use your common sense when dealing with money.
- Do not keep all your cash, bank cards and valuables together. Put them in small amounts in different pockets or places.
- Only bring the bank or credit cards you need.
- Leave your credit card number at home and make a note of the emergency number you need to call in case your card is lost or stolen (card stop).
- Keep the medicines you need to take with you or put them in your safe locker.
- The Pukkelpop wristbands must be worn at all times.
