Pukkelpop 2011

Great Britain will be strongly represented at Pukkelpop. So far the delegation from across the Channel comprised extremely interesting acts like Arctic Monkeys, Snow Patrol, Razorlight, Glasvegas, Klaxons. Today they were joined by Paolo Nutini, Jack Peñate and The Maccabees!

A few years ago, Paolo Nutini scored high with his debut album. In no time he sold over two million copies. Early this month his second album, ‘Sunny side up’, was released and immediately reached the top of the English charts. Soon he will have Belgian fans falling at his feet too. We think Jack Peñate’s single, ‘Tonight’s today’, will be the 2009 summertime anthem. No doubt, his Spanish roots are partly responsible for this. Already start dreaming of a long hot summer, because Peñate’s new album, ‘Everything’s new’, is full of this kind of songs!
Jack’s best mates, The Maccabees, have earned a slot at Pukkelpop with ‘Wall of Arms’, a record full of top-class songs. These days it is hard to find songs as razor-sharp and penetrating as theirs.
