Kurt Vile & the Violators are a band from Philadelphia PA, United States. The band draws influences from , and . Founded by frontman Kurt Vile (guitar, vocals), the band currently consists of Jesse Turbo (guitar, slide), Mike Zeng (percussion) and Adam Granduciel (guitar, bass). Kurt and Adam have played music together ever since the early 00's with each one contributing to the other's projects, most notably in The War on Drugs which is fronted by Granducial. Calling the current band "the ultimate line-up yet," Kurt has said, "I used to call previous bands of mine Kurt Vile & the Violators, but now if it's not us four together, it's not called Kurt Vile & the Violators. It's kind of like Neil Young & Crazy Horse. He wouldn't call it Crazy Horse if it wasn't those guys." The band released The Hunchback EP on Richie Records on March 25, 2009.
